Peer Review Process

Manuscripts are first evaluated by one of the Editors based on the following criteria (where applicable): originality and timeliness, clarity of writing, appropriateness of research methods, validity of data, strength of the conclusions and whether the data support them, and whether the topic falls within the scope of the journal.
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are rejected promptly. Otherwise manuscripts are sent to two peer reviewers with relevant expertise for evaluation. All the reviewers of each paper are chosen from different institutions. More than half of the reviewers represent country different from the country of the authors. 

Following receipt of reviewers’ reports the Editor makes a final decision.

 

 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Editorial Policy

“Transport and Aerospace Engineering” is an open access journal published twice a year, April and October in print and electronically. Articles are assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier) whereby it becomes possible to search and cite them without delay. The journal comprises articles on the latest practical as well as theoretical studies and experiments in the transport sector, particularly in aerospace engineering, paying special attention to the reports which have significant practical importance. The manuscripts submitted for consideration should contain new results and previously unpublished material.

The manuscripts are accepted in English. The submissions should be made electronically to the managing editor at aerti@rtu.lv and comply with the Requirements for Manuscripts Published in the Scientific Journal of Riga Technical University “Transport and Aerospace Engineering”.
The submitted manuscripts are peer reviewed by two experts of the relevant field. The authors are provided with feedback. After the peer review the managing editor assesses the paper’s suitability for publication in the journal and informs the authors about the decision.

After the article has been accepted for publication it goes to the production editor. The production editor makes any necessary corrections and sends the proof to the author for approval. There are no publication charges.

The authors are asked to sign License to Publish governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license in which the author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author/s, has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author/s.

All articles published in the journal are archived in the OA repository of Riga Technical University.

The print version of the journal is published by RTU Press – the publishing house of Riga Technical University.
